Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I believe I have developed more from my failures than my successes, particularly in my career.

What have you learned from your failures?

They keep on happening - you can't do anything about that. But you can change how you deal with them.

Perseverance.

Isn't that all they should teach you?

You can indeed. It is both the hardest and easiest thing to just change your mind.

You have never failed, you have simply found another way that doesn't work.

What I'm not very good at and where to concentrate my efforts in the future.

I think success and failure both teach us something

Discretion is an important lesson to learn - applicable beyond swinging.

They do, but I think many of us accept our successes and don't think about what led to that success. Or, that might just be me.

"To speak up - it's easier to be clearly assertive rather than end up in a difficult misunderstanding cause by trying not to be mean!"

Absolutely!

My first stint in the big chair at work I thought I could still be one of the team. It led to some bad (not disastrous) decisions and some dysfunctional team dynamics. I was ready to quit as I thought I could not lead such a complex operation and I could see I did not have the respect of those I was there to inspire to do their best.

That was almost 25 years ago and learning how to fix my mistakes meant I never made them again.

To keep on trying so you are a success, don’t take no for an answer, if you do try another route.

The world ain't all suns_ine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place... and I don´t care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently, if you let it. You, me or nobody, is gonna hit as hard as life. But ain't about how hard you hit... It's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward... how much you can take, and keep moving forward. That´s how winning is done. Now, if you know what you worth, go out and get what you worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits. And not pointing fingers saying: You ain´t what you wanna be because of him or her or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain´t you! You´re better than that
