How far would you travel for a FWB? I already have a long distance which works just fine. Would you consider another distance or concentrate on closer to home?

I travel a lot so driving for an hour or two doesn’t bother me like it does other people.

Other people will say that too long and want someone closer that they can call upon when they want.

I think general availability can be more of a barrier than location itself

We would say 30 mins radius from where we are.

We are FWB, and for us, we need to be able to get to one another and spending an age travelling would restrict the time we get to spend together.

Without wanting to use the word convenient, we don’t want the travel aspect to be inconvenient.

I think I possibly agree this could be the major factor. Having got a full time job, a FWB and a life availability may be more the issue than the distance. Xx

well i live in france but regularly travel to the uk (every 6 to 8 weeks)for 5 or 6 days at a time and am looking for a FWB in the south east to go to clubs, sauna etc. - any takers

I’m in Worcester. I’ve two long term about 20 mins away. Seem to have potentially “collected” another one about 30 mins away in Bearwood/Quinton ..... think that’s far enough for regular stuff.

My FWB lives near Ipswich and I live in Sheffield - but she is worth it.

I once drove there from Aberdeen for a night in a hotel with her.

I live in London so it can take an hour to get to most places from mine. I travel for a living so distance is not a problem.

An fwb would need to be local for me. Ive only had the 1 in the true sense. Going out boozing, cinema and all the friends type stuff as well as the nookie. I have travelled further afield for people that I have met more than once but i consider them playmates who I was chatty and friendly with as opposed to a proper fwb.

I disagree. If you want to meet regularly it's impossible. I work full time and have a family, like most, and when I meet I like to have plenty of time to make it worth it. The guy who lives in my wardrobe agrees completely !

I didn't say it was ideal. And I am geographically challenges anyway so the travel is something I have to overcome no matter what the situation..

I regularly meet someone who lives well over a hundred miles away - we just meet more or less in the middle, and yes, it's worth it! Mind you, my idea of regular probably isn't what you meant

I can see distance would become an issue - obviously - if you wanted to meet more frequently and/or didn't drive etc.

It depends on how often you agree. A couple of hours either way for a fun day has been my limit, but do do that more than every week becomes tricky and doesn't allow spontaneity...

I've done long distance (2.5 hours) in the past, and it gets to be a pain in the arse.

It's ok if you are happy with the occasional planned meet but if you want anything more frequent or more spontaneous then it starts to grate.

Without a "sleep-over", or a couple of days allocated to the visit, yes the distance has to be accounted for, and a limit drawn.

But even more so for the spontaneity aspect. Though for some of the people on here with more complex lives (not looking at you Morpork Watch!), I imagine spontaneity is going to be tricky even if they live two doors away...

I regularly drive an hour/90 minutes to visit certain friends.

Stick some good tunes on & the journey is over before I know it.

Yes, the individual's daily experience of travel adds to the mix.

I drove 5 hours for a two hour meeting the other day. Then the same home again.

An hour's drive to me is virtually popping next door.
