only to find at the bottom they’ve put a crap load of that legal bollocks in there

why oh why do people think sydney university or the other legal jargon about stealing pics would actually stop someone from taking your pictures, and if you found out some one had, WOULD YOU actually take legal action?

exactly, put nekkid pics of yourself in public galleries on the worldwide web and you’ve only got yourselves to blame if you “go viral”!

Having said that, it wouldn’t stop me contacting them if they otherwise ticked all my boxes, it’s not *that* much of a show-stopper for me!

i’ve asked a few people of the years why they have and they’ve just said, dunno, seen it on other profiles so copied it.

i do wonder where the first post about sydney uni originated though.

I agree. I think people are just over cautious and see it on other profiles so think it must mean something. If I get talking to someone who has it, I mention it to them

So you would seriously not message someone that you thought was hot because of that?

Sounds crazy to me,they could be the best thing ever!

We were contacted on Kik to be told that there is somebody using our pics on another site?

Would love to be a fly on the wall if they actually got a meet.

Just don't get it?

its a compliment in a way let's face it if you post a pic and its liked its screen saved and ends up wherever so if you don't want it wherever don't post it

It especially annoys me when it's the version that talk about Facebook specifically. This isn't Facebook!!

I hate those disclaimer things, like when it looks like a profile with lots of text to read but then the profile is actually one line written by the guy and then a huge legal disclaimer paragraph. Think some people use it to bulk out their profile.

I think a lot of people genuinely think it'll protect them. It wouldn't stop us contacting them only asking for a special code word in the message title does that

Central

People want to fit in as well as appear to know what they are doing. That they fit into the clueless, who obviously don't know much, can make them an easier target for the unscrupulous.

There's probably a clear relationship between those who post the warnings and those who end up getting messed about.

The laughably awful ones run along the lines

'Not having much luck here ...'followed by legal warnings.

I don't eliminate them totally but it does help to guide overall assessment
