Anyone else have issues with them?

Past 2 phones, I've noticed the battery goes down really fast in sub zero temperatures.

How sub zero are you. My wi fi won't work if it's frosty.

Even 0 degrees, I once came back from -15 with dead battery and phone went straight to %15 when I plugged in the charger.

Yes, my mr was working outside in that cold snap and he went to work with a full battery yet at lunchtime it was dead. And my friend works on a market stall and hers did the same. X

Its because batteries use chemicals and rely on chemical reactions.

In cold weather the chemicals can't react as fast.

In fact keeping a battery cold actually extends its life, as this slows down the chemical discharge.

A cold battery may still work but it won't have the same the power as a warm one.

In cold weather the internal movement of molecules (entropy) is low. So the discharge of your phone battery is also low and will appear to be 'flat' then it heats and your phone works again
