Have type 2.

It's very much under control, good diet and exercise gym 4days a week plus have an active job.

However I really suffer from cold hands mainly fingers.

Does anyone who is diabetic suffer from this?

I know all about the circulation issues that diabetes creates.

But never had it this bad before.

I’ve type 2 very much under control thank god and have lost 4stone initially when diagnosed however I’ve never had cold hands I do get cold feet. Went to doctors at time and he just advised plenty of excercise nothing over the top. He did say that if I experienced sudden and intermittent changes in my legs and arms with temperature. Tingling pins and needles etc to immediately get back to him Just keep an eye on it

Cant say I've noticed having very cold hands though.

It is possiably because of poor circulation ...are you taking beta blockers?

I’m on metformin but my dose is very low. I’ve tried my best to keep weight down. My only issue is with the little man who has a mind of his own these days even viagra doesn’t work half the time. Luckily I’m adaptable x

When I was type 2 I didn’t have a problem with my hands, but since I’ve come off the meds and reversed the diabetes I’ve had terrible cold hands and fingers. Even having to wear gloves in the fridge department in the supermarket as they just get numb and I can’t pick things up x

I am Type2 and found that Diabetes aggravates the arthritis on both hands particularly in my right hand. As well as painful, the hand gets cold.

I have type 2 diabetes, now controlled by diet and exercise. I used to take metformin but have been off it now for a few years because my diabetes is well controlled without it.

I have always had cold hands and feet for as long as I can remember so not related to the diabetes. My mum and my grandma were just the same so it's a family trait.

I would suggest a GP visit is in order, any changes in general health should be investigated no matter how small. It means complications can be picked up quicker.

Yes, my mom had type 2 diabetes. She always had cold hands and feet. As she got older, she had more and more problems with her feet being cold. They finally ran some tests and found that the blood supply to her feet was fucked - the veins and such had become useless (she told me they compared her veins to "mush").

Anyway, it had gone too far to fix so they amputated her leg above the knee. I guess all I can say is to keep on top of it - it's probably nothing serious now but it can lead to very serious things.
