We post quite a lot of pictures and enjoy it when people fab them. It's possible to turn fabs off for your profile if you don't want your pictures fabbed.

Some people like it possibly a little too much, some people don't give a flying hoop, some people claim not to give a flying hoop and actually do, and some people just see it as an 'oh someone liked that pic. That's nice' moment, have a little warm glow for a few seconds and then get on with their fab day without paying it any more mind. So I think yes might be the answer to the original question, but with all bases covered.
