"How many holes does a straw have? "

doesn't have a hole its only a peace of paper or plastic cut and formed into the shape of a pipe

or indeed it could be a type of grain

King's Crustacean

A straw is an open ended cylinder.

I'd say NO holes but two open ends.

Two surely. The sewers are a huge connection of tubes but each opening to the surface is a "manhole" isn't it?

No.

the manholes are holes along the length. They are not the beginning or the end.

If a straw had holes in it would leak.

....and in golf, surely the term ‘Hole in one’ is a misnomer; ‘One in the hole’ would surely make more sense. Damn....all this philosophical stuff going around in my bonce.....I’ll not be sleeping tonight for sure

Touche

The dictionary defines a hole as:

"a hollow place in a solid body or surface."

So perhaps the answer is none, as it's not in a solid surface; it's simply a tube...

La Turtle !

Uhmmm the exterior of the tube/straw is solid......

The 'tunnel' isn't , nor are the ends.

"What about a polo?"

Ah.....it isn’t really a hole at all. ‘Tis merely an area of space surrounded by a mint flavoured ring. (I stepped outside the Matrix to discern this)

I always thought it meant you'd only used one shot/stroke to place ball on said hole, hence Hole in one.

I think that you’re quite correct in fact. Ah...It just goes to show that my knowledge of the sport is marginally smaller than the diameter of one of the holes Now football on the other hand I am highly knowledgable on; two teams diving on the ground and spitting whilst the crowd shouts encouraging abuse at them

"Is a black hole really a hole is what I want to know? "

No, black hole is not a hole, it is 3-dimensional sphere. What you call a hole? When you fall in hole you will come out from other side but this thing not happen with black hole. But, you can call a wormhole a 3-dimensional hole.

Black hole is just like big sphere of very high mass and the high mass is concentrated at its center forming a singularity.

Does that answer you question?
