Writing erotica

Evening all you lovely people.

I've written two very short stories before which I've posted in the Stories and Fantasies forum and I'm currently in the process of writing a third called Out for drinks. Each time T has said that I really should consider writing a full book in my spare time and maybe try sending it to some small independent publisher to see if it leads to anything (forum feedback has also been very good).

Basically I'm looking for a bit of advice of where to start and if anyone has any experience of this.

Thanks in advance

G

Well there’s no harm in trying!

I haven’t read what you’ve written but I expect these publishers get inundated with manuscripts but I guess, provided you’ve got enough talent, your chances are as good as anyone’s?

The other option is to self-publish of course. Obviously this will incur personal upfront cost but if you can get your work ‘out there’ who knows where it will lead?

I never thought about self publishing. Food for thought and something else to look into. Thanks.

How about publishing it as a kindle book?

Another good idea, I'll look into that too. Thank you.

Have you ever attended a creative writing course? They're very informative especially when it comes to the format required by publishers and which ones its best to submit scripts to.

Nope, not done that either. This has come about by T reading what I've written up to now and her suggesting and encouraging me that I should try it for real.

All good advice forumites. Once again, I thank you.

bmth /poole sometimes blandford

i wrote a couple myself ..im very proud of them ..

people that bother to read them always say theyre very good and i should write more .. but they were true so it was easy to just write what happened ... i think its hard to write good erotica without it being clichéd drivel..so well done

I have a friend who used to write some of the 'letters' published in the American edition of Penthouse.

Her husband was on a secondment to the US; she made a decent living out of it.

I will, now, head over to the stories and fantasies section.

A world of my own

You can self publish on kindle.

I'm tempted to pen a collection and see what happens.
