Has anyone changed your mind

Have you ever changed your view on something, simply because someone has put forward a compelling argument contrary to your's?

Has anyone got you to try something you would not normally consider trying?

Have you had your life changed for the better by someones persistence?

I know I have

Yes many times.

It's probably one reason I get into discussion and debate. I'm offering up my position to be challenged. Why would I be happy unknowingly holding a wrong idea and as such lead people in a wrong direction on something?

Hmmm. Too many examples to think of. I guess one big one is that I used to be an agnostic and was convinced, based on very good logic and argument, to become an atheist instead. That's just one example, though.

Yes, and I'm not easily persuaded to change my mind as I usually think very long and deeply before forming an opinion/decision and this before attached to it. I love when someone has equally thought deeply and shares their different perspective to mine and is persistent and enjoys debating finer points. Often find myself surprised when I am adopting my interlocutor's point of view. It's like a new world has appeared.

Biology is all about chemistry, chemistry is all physics, physics comes from maths, mathematics is born from philosophy therefore the meaning of life is mankind itself.

Or something like that

I'm positively glad that I can be influenced and persuaded to change my mind.

In fact people who resolutely fail to accept any other way than their own are a huge turn off.

On a lighthearted note my earliest memory of my mind being changed was to accept melted cheese and Worcester sauce on toast. Better than anything you'll be offered in here!!

My life has changed for the better because I was taken by surprise. Someone managed to get under my age range radar. I’ve only ever been interested in older men so never considered anyone younger. Then Swing came along who’s younger and blew me away. He’s like the sun in Aesop's Fable about the sun and the wind. I’m stubborn and hate being told what to do so he used his warmth, intelligence and humour to melt my heart

No. We're British. We don't change our minds. Even when presented with compelling evidence or pursuasive alternative viewpoints we simply shout our own belief louder, because the louder you are, the more right you are.

Birmingham

I've changed my mind about people who instinctively, I have thought must be nobs but when I get to know them they're alright.

I even changed my mind about Wolverhampton which I always believed to be twinned with Mordor. Come to Wolverhampton they said and so I did and it was okay and I wasn't eaten by an orc.

But no one will ever get me to change my mind about boy bands.
