What shows your personality ina more accurate way, your profile (where you had time to think about what to write) or your spontaneous posts on here? I thought of this having just observed another thread... Genuine question btw as always

Well the profile is there to give you the background and the forum/pms help you build a better picture of the person(s).

.

In your profile, you are as such selling yourself

Whereas on a post you can be more spontaeous, which I suppose shows your true character

i think both can do the job... the profile can be like your shop window but posts can be like the interior....

I would say the forum posts, as a persons sense of humour, kindness and empathy, rudeness ect can be shown in what they reply and how they reply.

The profile to me only gives a brief outline of the person and what they are looking for.

I'm going to say I used to think profiles gave a good overview of a person/couple.

This theory has been well and truely hit the backburners after reading a nice profile and then going on to read vitriol by the user/s on the forums

When visible my profile is blunt and to the point. It's designed to attract a certain type of man who is not looking for a fwuffy wuffy girly girl but a ball buster...literally.

My forum posts are written after I've counted to 10. I tend to avoid "serious" threads, I'm serious at work, this is fun.

That said there are days when I think the Mods and admin should allow an amnesty SD some peoples twattish posts and behaviour should be called.

I think that profiles can be faked, but if they post on the forums for long enough, their true thoughts and personality will out.

Whether I spot it or not is a different matter been fooled a few times now, but then there are those on here who's opinions I like and respect, who point it out so, lucky me!

The Town by The Cross

It's safe to say that neither a profile nor posts reflect anyones personality accurately.

My profile is a no nonsense algorithm of sorts.

I don't see the point in dressing things up further.

Forum posts only portray a moment in time, a fragment in context of a personality. More importantly each post is a reaction to a poster and the person who posted first should always be taken into account when analysing responses - as should :- the time of day, emotional state etc.

Too much is read into posts and profiles.

I fail to see how they are comparable. One is an insular piece of text designed to set out needs , wants and offers.

The other is a dynamic response on a variety of topics. It's quite possible to contribute seriously and somberly to one thread and then be totally idiotic on another as that is the intended vein of the thread.

No person is so monofaceted that they can be read through a swingers forum site.

Sometimes it serves equally as well to 'see' what is not said by people. I don't believe for one moment that anyone who has read my posts knows anything about me at all.

There is so much left unsaid.

Simply amazes me that people come down so easily on one side or the other.

See....... I'm tired right now. I might not be in the morning when I post. Ubiquitous smiley coming up

Ubiquitous smiley coming up

granny you too tired to have a play with my new toy

Dunno ........ does it vibrate ? "

Nope but it makes me very wet and hurts my belly

It seems more people are likely to read my posts than my profile, which means more people are likely to misinterpret my honesty for abrasiveness here, when I'm really a sweetie.

Mind, they'd think I'm a bit abrasive from my profile too. That's what happens when the fuckers keep writing without reading it!
