Having said that it depends on why you want one. If you're a farmer get a Hilux if you're a poser get Ranger.

I drove my son's Navarra this winter, i would NOT want to drive it across a muddy field loaded up with fencing materials!

Hilux is heavy on juice and uncomfortable and overrated for power comfort get the 224 3.0 vw amarock its a lot more expensive but when you drive the 2you will see why there is a new merc out now haven't driven them yet drive the bigger engine one the smaller engine ones are only dressed up Nissan navara

Hilux. We bought the Mitsubishi first due the the deal but it was gutless.

Slightly more room in the back of the Hilux.the L200 rear seats are fixed at a very steep angle.

Don't get the petrol the diesel is more powerful.

Oh it was yours for business not an everyday car.

Just been down this route. Depends what you want it for. So many people with pickup trucks putting canopies over the pickup bed. Why not get a van?

I needed a 4x4 van on a low budget. Ended up with a isuzu Trooper ambulance!! Loads of room in the back, side doors for extra access to the back,

Powerful 3.1 engine for towing and blue flashing lights and sirens

I drive a Mk5 2.5 D4D single cab Hilux. I get over 400 miles on £70 of diesel, it will cruise quite comfortably at 80 mph and yet is still quiet enough to have a conversation.

More importantly though, i have never been stuck despite the lack of off road tyres and regardless of how much weight i've been carrying.

It's fitted with a Truckman canopy for security, there is no van in the world that will give me this all round level of performance.

Van is surely practical but i hate vans since I drive one empty on a Windy Evening on the M1.. poo nearly came out

I have a Nissan navara, it’s not without its faults, a bit thirsty, I think it’s better than the Mitsubishi L200 I test drove.

I have driven most of them Isuzu navara and l200 are only tractors I only drove the ford across a field once and taught it was loud so you are down to the Hilux and amarock

Lol tooooo big! Work in construction,driven mates Ford Rangers n Toyota land cruiser,rangers massive,landcruiser had nothing but problems,always had Astra vans,never got stuck on sites,maybe had to walk lil bit further but not worth extra cost,running cost mpg/tyres etc or general nuisance round town
