Time for an upgrade but can’t decide between IPhone X and Samsung S8 maybe Pixel 2.

Is S8 better than iPhone X? Any body using it atm who was an iPhone user previously?

The Samsung s9 will probably be out around March/April time. May want to hold off for a bit longer and get a new phone rather than a phone that will be outdated in a couple of months

I’m on iPhone but hate it, think I’m going pixel next as it looks good and has unlimited storage so can take lots of naughty pics and video without worrying about storage space

I went from a Microsoft Windows 10 Phone to a S8. I still don't like the S8, but can't go back Windows until they sort out the bugs.

I don't think I'm compatible with these media type phones. I want to be able to attach an invoice to an email with ease, not take a pic of myself with bunny ears and huge eyes.

The bunny ears and huge eyes are a burden on society I agree. But unfortunately they come from an app and not the phone itself

I’ve got the iPhone 8... tbh I regret it and should have stuck with my 7

The screen that is ment to be the most durable glass ever has scratched... yes not cracked but scratched, a deep scratch which you should t be able to do to glass. I complained and they were like there is nothing they will do cuz it’s just cosmetic.

I wouldn’t mind if I’d dropped the phone or anything but I hadn’t.

The pixel 2 is very good. The camera is amazing and using Android as intended without the bloatware of Samsung S8 in particular, but also Sony Z5 is great. It's not as freedom inducing as moving from Apple to Android but almost. D downside when I got mine is cost, but I think now it is less extravagant.

This is true....but by then there will be more in the pipeline!

I remember a few years back. Guy I worked with asked head of IT when would be best time to get a new laptop. Answer was now. Only other answer was never....because things change and move on so often!

OnePlus 5T - great phone, Dual SIM and about half the price of any of the other big brand handsets on the market.

Plus their version of android allows you to delete bloatware (all that Google pish you can't get rid of on other handsets)

Take a look at the Honor Pro 10!

Best battery life of any phone and twice that of an i-phone! Probably the best camera and camera software of any phone. Good styling and a major player in other countries. My lady has the Honor 9 and that is fantastic. Pro 10 is my next phone.

I just switched from an iphone to the s7 (my first ever samsung) cant fault it at all, granted its minutely dated but I only wanted something cheap so if i break it (which I will) then I can afford to bin it and get something else

Interesting! What is it that makes you regret moving to S8 from iPhone?

I’m worried that I’ll have to move all contacts and iCloud onto android.

Unless you're a professional photographer or need advanced computing power, what's wrong with your current phone?

I'm still using a 3 year old Samsung galaxy ace4. Has 4G, runs every app I try. Costs around 40 quid and £10 a month on giffgaff. Less if you use home Wi-Fi.

Always been an Android user, mostly Samsung's. Had a Pixel (1) XL for about a year and absolutely love it. Fast, intuitive, great camera good battery life.Only fault is that it's a bit slippery in your hand and benefits from thin rubberised case.

Just simple things like emails aren't proper my working together like on iPhone, whenbim type the phone just assumes I'm typing a word that doesn't even exist.

It can be pretty slow opening apps and things like that.

Oh and when I first got it I had real trouble moving my pictures from ICloud to Samsung

Still haven't moved any so left them all on iCloud on my computer (I had like 6k pictures and 500 videos) even the guys in o2 couldn't help me.

It isn't Google pish that bloats it. On Google phones there is very little you can't delete and even less that is not useful. It's manufacturer pish. Samsung and Sony - two apps for everything...

My colleague has a one plus and they are a decent ripo...erm, alternative :D plus people have managed to get the pixel camera software on other Androids now so that's a plus if you are tech minded and care about the camera.

Sony do it through the Z series, too. Software (games mostly) that they are pushing are the only notification I was unable to stop.
