From the ladies. I have a big works night out soon and I'm looking for something to wear under my dress to hold my belly in. I have some excess flab on my belly and it's not that nice when I have my dress on. Where can I find something.

You could get a shapewear/body control in M&S, or just about anywhere.

I like the ones that are like a long, fitted slip but without the bra bit (as my boobs are large and happier in a proper bra). It just stops the wobble for some outfits.

Wouldn't it be horribly uncomfortable to eat if you were wearing anything that held you in?

I got some deeply unattractive but very comfortable knickers to wear under close fitting clothes from M and S. They don't hold me in but they're silky fabric that doesn't show under clothes or create extra lumps and bumps. Could it be that you're concentrating on your tummy and other people won't actually notice?
