""tart" is thrown about more in our area, we had a Rottie by the name of "Stella" and she really was a tart with a heart " Well there are lots of similar words but all have the same connotations. Are any of them valid nowadays?

"Is it bad that I love that word? Such fun to be had!" Any word is only bad if its used to belittle or to be condescending in my book. If you can use it with people who accept the badinage then thats on lovel terms and no doubt gets a smart reply. I was meaning as a derogatory term to show disdain.

"Slag. Used to describe a celebrity. In this day and age of sexual liberation would you think that it is now an obsolete word? I looked up the exact definition and it described a woman considered to be promiscuous with a lot of sexual partners. So by definition it's an offensive term but when does sexually liberated and adventurous become a slag? Or when does someone considered a slag become just a woman who likes a lot of sex with different people (something men have enjoyed label free for ions). A lot of men who are non swingers might describe me as one. Fair comment, I consider them narrow minded. But for swingers to refer to non swingers as slags is what made me feel uncertain about the use of word on this site. Its descriptive and makes a point that everyone will make a relative, but is it a fair term now in these days of sexual equality anywhere, not just this site? Should it ever be used by swingers to be scornful of a woman with a 'reputation' as a slag or is the word as relevant as ever? Thoughts please. " Sorry posted my reply without fully reading, iv never agreed with the whole men are stud women are whores thing. Never minded a sexually liberated women. Or judged them. Slag is an outdated term. Still fun in the right situations though!

"My personal opinion is that a slag has sex with whoever she wants, actively goes out to seek sex and doesn't care who she has sex with. A similar term is also slapper. A swinger chooses who she will have sex with especially where one to one or couples are concerned. Even using clubs, parties etc a swinger still chooses who she will have sex with, doesn't necessarily go with the _iew of having sex, unlike a slag and its no big deal if she doesn't whereas a slag might think she didn't have a good night" Not all swingers care who they sleep with either. Same non swingers actively seek out partners and give it due consideration as much as swingers do. Great point but I don't think all sexually liberated people who seek out the type of sex they want need to become swingers.

"I saw the post you are referring to and I thought the use of the word was a bit much tbh. I consider it to be right up the there with c**t. It's not illegal though so horses for courses I guess." Im a lover of the english language and its roots and definitions (enjoying the Stephen Fry series) so often look at archaic and no longer used terms which must have gone out of fashion at some point. I feel I might be living in a time where such words will be on the way out as people are becoming more sexually liberated and wondered what others thought. People can use whatever flowery language they like as long as its an accurate description See I'd rather be called a sod than a bugger as sod is more accurate.
