No. Not the 5th of November safety advert off of the 80s. Robert Burns. The famous Scotch poet from the olden days.

Tonight I shall be mostly be drinking a few Whiskys and eating Haggis while reciting one line from the only poem I know over and over.

Any Scotch people on the forums? I live here. But I'm originally from the south east of England.

Me! I'm the opposite, Scottish living in England but I have my haggis neeps and tatties, some friends coming over and a couple of bottles of whisky for good measure.

Durham Tees

If Scotch is the drink and people from Scotland are Scottish, in the interests of linguistic balance, perhaps we should now refer to people from Wales as Welshish.

Yeah. It's in most shops actually, although usually only one brand.

Oh dear, think that's you in trouble. I am reliably informed that Scotch is a drink and a person from Scotland is Scottish - and that they get a bit funny over this mistake

Oh yes!

Scots is also ok... but never “Scotch”

Oh and don’t think the wrong use of whiskey in another post in this thread didn’t go unnoticed
