A world of my own

My aunt has a few times placed a lonely hearts advert and is trying to convince me to give it a go. Her theory is that you can tell more about someone from a voice recording then from a written message. While I agree and think the anonymity might be exciting, I'd also worry that should I get any replies and actually meet, they would be disappointed.

Has anyone else ever done this?

It could work the other way. The man might sound really hot but when you meet he could be a damp squid XXX

My sister in law was on a dating site, looking for true love.

It was like a swingers site to be honest.

However, indirectly, via that site she met someone and now they're married.

So it might work but not in the way one may or may not expect.
