I used to love going to rollers in Milton Keynes when I was a kid. Had my own skates (quads rule!)

At Christmas my nephew gave me his old skates as he had grown out of them and now I really want to go to a roller disco!

I used to go Rollers on my Bauer Turbos. I get my skate on after watching MK lightning now.

The Roller disco at Kings Cross is pretty fun.

I remember as a kid going past the same old mans back garden with my mum on the way to school one day I was quite far behind he shouted out

Great memories, Evie. I (he) would customise mine by assembling a new set of adidas trainers to my bad boy skates ( removef the boot). Took days to assemble but once attached with some super big wheels and a new set of bearings I was the envy of town, not a bad skater to boot either. Ready when you are.

I went to one in Harrogate a couple of years ago, I was nervously going in cirles around the edge while all these kids and teenagers were flying round backwards at high speed and doing flips, twists and turns with complete confidence. I probably looked like a right arse lol

The roller disco was a highlight of my formative years. My sister and I threw one for our 30th. So much fun.

They still happen. Go seek one out. Alternatively seek out your local roller derby team. They’re usually happy for support or new recruits. I tried it once and almost died. Not for the un-coordinated
