The house over the road has it, about 5 families have lived there in the past few years, I doubt they were all swingers!

Hope not, my Mum has some in her garden, can't imagine my Mum swinging and wouldn't want to bump into her in a club!

There's definitely something in it going back a good few years. I was in my 20s when I first heard this so it's not new. Possibly an urban myth but, is there smoke without fire?

Knock on the front door and ask, sometimes there will also be a box of OMO in view on a window sill.

Only if the pampas grass is wearing an ankle chain, and carrying a box of Omo.

I think any marker with a life span of 50 years plus must be viewed with caution.

It's a potentially extremely long lived perennial, so could outlast the planter.

Gnomes are a more accurate signal in 2018.

Hiding in the shadows

As a young child in the 70s I planted a small grass in my parents garden, I bought it on a trip to the garden centre as it reminded me of the grasses on the dunes on our last holiday.

It turned into a monster pampas grass that my dad split into 3,replanting in other areas, one of which was the front garden.

When my parents moved a few years ago, my dad dug a bit up & replanted it at their new house.

I'd never heard the pampas grass myth till I joined this site.

I had to get a photo taken of me next to it on my last visit home as it amused me so much.

Pretty sure my parents weren't swingers, and as I was the original planter, guess I was predicting the future

It’s a mixed response, interesting. I think the disbelief that our parents may not have been swingers is just how we perceive them. I’m sure people of their generation did swing. None of my friends outside the swinging scene know about my swinging. So secrecy is possible?

I wear my hotwife anklet on right leg with pride though!
