Is there any point in writing a profile? Does anyone (apart from me) read them?

What do you like to see in a profile and is there anything that puts you off?

A good profile is a must for me. If someone has a rubbish profile, then it doesn't matter what message they send, I wont be replying.

As for what things in a profile put me off.... what I write in mine should do the trick

If I make mine fluffy the proportion of messages from idiots goes up. Pics make more difference, but having said that a male friend just radically rewrote his profile and his views have increased, despite having no pics up yet. He has been putting up more status updates too.

Yes I read profiles before deciding to email someone on here. Personally I like to see a bit of humour in a profile and if the profile is just one long rant then it puts me off.

I love reading a good profile and often PM someone who made me laugh or wrote something I liked

I find our views go up when we use the status update. I can only assume those viewing do pay attention to our profile as we rarely get messages.

Has anyone read Rachael's profile? She offers paper bagging.

Sheffield

Don't care if it costs 5p I'd prefer using plastic to paper (if you know what I mean)

Traffic land

I always read the profiles.

I like to see a bit of humour, something about what they are looking for/can offer.

I don’t like to see anything negative or aggressive
