So my Private face pic.

I have allowed it to be public for 24 hours

I’m taking a huge risk as it’s me!

Is this too much of a risk?

Would you do the same

If so post you have done so in the thread

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Do what feels right for you.

I don't post public face pictures but it has been seen at numerous socials and has been sent to hundreds of people. What they do with it after it has been sent is out of my control.

My mug is up. I have a habit of being faceless sometimes but I’ve never had any issues with a face picture.

It all comes down to personal preference.

Personally, I never post my face picture publicly.

Whilst I am happy sending it in private message or making it available to 'friends' only I do not like the idea that simply anybody can view it at any time in a public profile picture or public gallery of pictures.

Limbo

I've had public face pics up for a few months now - one day I just thought 'sod it'. I admit I don't like the idea of being identified - or more to the point, confronted - in public because of it, but rationally, the percentage of people using this site is tiny compared to the general public and the percentage of those thoughtless enough to behave like that must be tinier still so I'm not unduly worried. I'm self employed so there's no risk to my job, and I figure if anyone who knew me found me here they'd likely be on the site for similar reasons and therefore wouldn't make trouble.

The main thing for me is that - by having my face public - I don't have to go through the anxiety inducing process of sending it out and hoping it's well received. People can get a very good idea of what I look like right from the off

I did it Once, one night. I had someone message me to tell me I was displaying my face. They thought it was accidental.

My main concern is someone recognising me and following me home. There are a lot of local people on here.

"My main concern is someone recognising me and following me home. There are a lot of local people on here. "

I had this. No idea who it was, it was a female profile, whoever it was had been following me about over a week, maybe more. They were telling me where/when I was shopping. Then they told me my neighbours names. I had never said where I lived.

So I am now faceless on here. I hate sending face pics as you never know who is truly on the other end of a message on here. I tend to only send face pics to verified profiles, infact I've blocked unveried and new profiles to try and keep as safe as possible as well as our 4 children who live with us in our house.

Not a chance in hell I would put face pics up for this exact reason. Only send face pics when we have spoken to people for a while that we are planning on meeting x

Hiding in the shadows

I have face pics on here.

Didn't for a very long time when I first joined. I split with my FWB, who'd introduced me to the site, he threatened to tell people 'what I was really like' kinda amused me, pot kettle black... Also made me realise, I didn't care!

I'm not ashamed, I'm not committing any crimes.

So my response to his threats, face pics & a message "tell who you want"

Stockport

Hi OP, as a tv I have no problem with posting a face pic, the thing is that we have the natural disguise of make-up, hair etc, plus muggles that know us in our boring identity not having the faintest idea of how fabulous we are when we're our true selves.

When I first went out in public I did use to worry about the consequences of being spotted, then when I found that I could walk freely in any busy city centre (or tiny village for that matter) I got much more confident. Since an incident where I came face to face (literally less than a metre apart) with a colleague who I've worked with for 20 years, and he just walked straight past me, there has been no stopping me. The worry for me now is probably that I am becoming well known enough in my trans identity, that it is starting to be a possibility of getting recognised on here! But I can always just change to a different hair style for my pics here, show my victorias secrets instead of my laura ashleys...

And anyway if any you fabbers should recognise me on the street - can you just PM me and tell me how fabulous I look in person please
