Grace. My ex wife gave birth early to our first daughter. Grace had already passed away in the womb. I had know idea any of this was happening , i was abroad with the army. When i eventually got the news i cried , i couldnt help it. In fact that was the last time i ever shead a tear. By the time i got back home my ex was already at home. I never got to see Grace. We went on to have two other children and a happy 20 year marriage. Whenever i hear i name Grace i smile. It is such a lovely name.

My children all have traditional names. The Cambridges have chosen Charlotte and Elisabeth: my youngest middle names.

If I were naming them today I'd still pick classical names like Rachel, Georgina and Emily.

My son-in-law is ex royal navy and ex marine. He'd better teach my grandsons self defence and boxing as the names they've saddled my grandsons with will ensure every day at school will be a challenge that's for sure!
