Yoga is a great way to relax. There are usually classes in most areas and if not any amount of dvds or internet resources.

It depends on what you find relaxing... I find going to gym class relaxing and stress relieving.. ihbae tried yoga but didn't get on with it and therefore felt stressed.

I have heard that sound baths are good for that sort of thing:

Part meditation, part listening exercise, sound baths are healing musical performances played with Himalayan singing bowls, crystal bowls, gongs, biosonic tuning forks, shamanic drumming, and chanting. Participants lay on the floor in supported savasana (corpse pose) and let the waves of sound wash over them.

Osteopath told me Pilates was better than Yoga as easier to do. He sees a lot of people with injuries sustained trying to achieve & hold yoga positions!

Very true. I find sewing relaxing but it's not likely to be for everyone

Ironing can be relaxing if you have loads of time, it's a cold winter's afternoon and there's a good play on the radio. But I agree I can think of better ways to relax.

There are relaxation and meditation groups but they tend to not be as relaxed as listening to Tai Chi or meditation music on headphones or just going for a walk in the countryside.

I've found some of the relaxation videos on YouTube quite good - there is one from Paul Mackenna that literally sends me to sleep.

And I can't sleep at the best of times.

Check them out there are loads of them by different people.

Put headphones in, lay on your bed close your eyes and relax.
