"Installed windows, then got a message saying "updating firmware" when I accidentally unplugged it. Now it wont start. I press the power button 2hich lights up then goes off after 2 seconds. Is it totalled? " Possibly bricked. Firmware is different to the OS and powering off when upgrading it is possibly the worst thing you can do. What's the make and model?

Power it off then hold down CTRL + Esc and power it on - Fingers crossed you will get the BIOS recovery option to restore it.
