"I've been thinking about getting one, but a girl I work with has one and hers is recording 9000 steps at work and we have quite sedentary jobs, she's convinced it's accurate though. Ginger " From my experience in last 2wks since got the ShitBit for Christmas id say "dont do it".I know its not accurate as a 2mile round trip walk for me is 6200 steps but at work Tuesday it recorded 18,600 steps and sat down driving was watching it count 'steps' almost as fast as a second hand on a watch

"There isn't. You can try adjusting your step size, so it doesn't pick up smaller movements. Or you can buy the more expensive Blaze or Ionic, they only detect steps. " The free ones McDonalds gave out years ago were more accurate!

"Check your settings - make sure it is set to your dominant wrist so it “de-sensitises” the tracker. I understand Fitbits have their issues but I have had mine for over 3 years and once it is set-up properly it does the job. " Thanks its on left wrist as thats where id wear a watch(never have though) a relaxed walk, around town say,id have left hand in trouser pocket, but a quicker pace walk both arms would be swinging(no pun there)
