In the pub last night & the barman asked me what I wanted.

"I'll have a Shirley Bassey please"

So he gave me a large Black Bush.

My Dad was mad on her in the sixties, well for all his life really.

At the time I never appreciated her voice,but she has a cracking voice and a very sexy lady even now

as a kid i remember her always being switched off whenever she came on telly

mum couldn't stand the way she contorts her mouth

i must admit i didn't get it at the time, but elton john now has a similar effect on me - don't mind listening tohim, but can't watch him !

Must say, I feel the same! I remember (but no detail) about her and an airport? Similar to Daina Ross! By all accounts, neither very nice people!

I would put Shirley Bassey right up there with the great female singers, I don't know anything about her as a person apart from the fact she is from welsh wales, but my god, what a voice.
