"After spending 3 to 4 years of your life training to get qualified, was it as easy to get a good job afterwards as they say it's going to be.? question two they say you will earn about £32,000 a year, True or false ?" I do property repairs and refurbs I don't know a poor qualified plumber the two I use earn 60k plus self employed My advise would be try to get a job based course then when qualified they keep you on but check the pay / terms they offer This is how 1 of the plumbers started stayed a couple of years then went self employed .

Difficult to quantify to be honest, there are a plethora of self employed one man bands all trying to make a living fitting taps and repairing toilets. So that ends up as a price war to win the work.. Not many companies employ people and pay them upwards of 30k a year more like 15 - 20 if you're lucky and know what you're doing so can work alone, that means you make money for the company not cost them.. Advice would be cut your teeth with an organisation and see how things work out in your area. Trained up and certificated you could always work for yourself but it's not for the fainthearted these days..

"I trained as a plumber and dropped out at 19. Jobs were getting harder to come by and the undercutting by unqualified gas workers got ridiculous. I think a British Gas engineer is on around 30kish I left my apprenticeship for for another job on more than a qualified gas engineer earns. I miss the job sometimes but don’t miss hoping the phone is going to ring. " would be a wory going self employed, it will take time to get your name out there and get regular work.
