I was going to make a thread on this a while back.. how do you even go about easing the topic with a partner that's normally vanilla? As most relationships that are formed away from the scene are generally vanilla, at least at first. I wanted to try and introduce my ex to swinging but couldn't figure out how to bring it up without sounding like I wasn't happy with her, was cheating etc etc.

You can't, nearly everybody who has been brought up to consider monogamy as normal will think that first off. Start off by suggesting it during fantasy talk while you're having sex. But you need to talk frankly and lovingly when it comes down to it. Say you love her, tell her that she is enough for you but you want to explore together. Never, ever present it as an alternative to cheating though. If you've previously been unwilling to discuss your feelings with your partner this can actually refresh a relationship even if the ultimate outcome isn't swinging.

Why is it that when men bring up this subject here, it almost always seems to be couched in terms of "convincing" a woman to do something she may be reluctant about?

Not a healthy approach to a relationship in my opinion.

We met via fab so we both wanted a poly relationship but at the start when we was falling in love it was hard but now it works. Everyone is different x

Ok here goes!

Ads has always had a thing for a secret wank which I didn’t know about til last year. I took it very badly that he was chatting to other women but do you know what I was more upset with? The fact he felt he couldn’t tell me not the fact he did it, I was more hurt that he was chatting to other women and not including me. Very weird lol.

So after some lengthy discussions over a few months I said to him I would like to have sex with another woman before we are married this year and I want you to join us, it’s taken a while to be honest and open but that was the thing last year that opened up sexually so many ideas we wanted to do etc.

I have absolutely no desire to be with another man, it just doesn’t float my boat at all but I have a very strong desire to see Ads with another woman and watch them and see him treat her the same way he does me, huge turn on and I have a huge desire you be with another woman too it’s something that I have missed and with his secret wanks he was having and after talking at great length it was something I was happy for him to do if I knew about it (which I have full knowledge of now and we have some great sex after).

Been there, done that...in a foursome though and we found out that:

a) Cute is a bit more jealous than he thought and wants to have me just for himself

b) I don't enjoy sex with other guy as much as I enjoy sex with Cute.

So we decided to look just for women, but I think if we met the right couple in the club, we would give it a go again.
