Is "hot" overused?

Let me paint the picture.

Inevitably I get asked "is she hot?", by guys when discussing either of my partner. In my head the first thought is "Yes she's hot, why would I have chased someone I didn't think was hot?" But it doesn't stop there; the girls are more than "hot"; hot is what I would have used when I was in school to describe anyone more physically appealing than the average.

"Hot" doesn't have room to include the nuances that make them desirable; the way they move, the smells, the smiles, the expressions (especially when horny), the sounds... Personally I use descriptions like; stunning, captivating, knockout, delectable, devastating, delectably devastating...

"Is she hot?" is now getting to the stage of being cringeworthy in the realm of questions/messages like "How are you finding the site" and "wuu2".

Maybe it's just an OCD style bee in my bonnet but it's friggin' annoying!

Hot is usually used to describe any woman that is the object of desire by the man chasing her...

Hot is also objective. A pic can make a lovely lady look hot.

What is hot for me isn't hot for everyone else.

It is overused

I like it. I don't just use it for people though, situations can be hot too.

If a profile says Hot couples only we don't even bother. Too stuck up, we see ourselves as Mr & Mrs average and where comfortable and happy with us.

"I wish the weather was hot."

Me too

The faffing required to wrap up to leave the house crazes me. I like as few layers as possible.

I know where you're coming from. "Sexy" is a descriptor that makes me cringe. On the face of it, it seems a reasonable way to specify that someone/something/some situation is attractive/exciting in a physical, sexual sense. Like, a woman may be beautiful, but so is a nice sunset over the peak district. "Sexy" should specify more than that. But it doesn't. It's a horrible term. Being called sexy doesn't make me feel complimented, it's like listening to the Loose Women discussing Colin Firth.

You feel that "hot" is like that, yeah?
