How come a photo that was uploaded on 25 Nov and has been fab'd just over 7000 times does not appear on the most fab'd pics of 2017.

Surely it should be on page 2-3 betwen the guys that were fabd 8000 times and the one fabd 6700 times?

It is not the most in the last 12 hours, but thanks for trying to understand.

We uploaded a picture on 25 nov and it has just over 7100 fabs, but doesnt appear on the most fab'd list.

That's fine, let's all move on with our lives. But a picture is on there that has less than 4000.

Are we being played here?

I just took a look. Many of the pics on that list have far more than the number of fabs quoted. I wonder if _eeside is right and it's the photos that had the most fabs in 12 hours (like the rules for getting on hot pics, except competing amongst those for the year?).

I'm not sure, though. It isn't something I pay much attention to. You could bring it up in the feedback forum?

I might be remembering wrongly as it was a year ago but I just remember it being questioned. You're right it should have a different description if my memory is correct.

It's easier to get another pic on page one when you already have one on there as it will get more views.

I'm sure your pic wont appear on most fabbed as you only uploaded it in November, to get on most fabbed pics of the year the pic needs to have been on for the whole 12 month period. If you look at the ones on there now they were all uploaded before the start of 2017.

I'm still not sure, I just fabbed one and although it added to the overall count for the pic it didn't add to the 2017 count which you think it would do if they hadn't stopped counting yet for 2017. If they have then it should automatically update, I'm pretty sure it's not a manual thing.

TBH I think fab, being an amateur (but great) site is far less technical than we imagine. I get the impression that a lot of things are done manually rather than automatically - picture acceptance/rejection for one, for example!

It has been known

(Yes it's possible)

But that's not what I just did, I fabbed somebody's that was already on page 1. You can see the fabs for the year of 2017 which didn't change but click on the pic and it shows you overall fabs which did change

If they are the most fabbed pics of 2016 then some are uploaded quite late in 2016 to have got more fabs than ones uploaded in early 2016. That doesn't make sense to me as although the initial rush of fabs happens when first uploaded a pic will accumulate fabs throughout the year so you would think the majority of 2016 most fabbed pics would have been uploaded in early 2016.

If I'm right and most fabbed pics for a year are the ones that have been on the whole 12 months then you would expect the 2017 most fabbed pics to have been uploaded late 2016, which the ones on there right now have!

I do hope you're right and I'm wrong as your way is a better way of doing it imo. This is the first year I've looked at it where as you've had an interest before so you're probably going to be right!

Look for yourself. It was uploaded in 2016 and got all but 12 fabs in 2017.

At the risk of sounding far too !fab nerdy’ for my own good - the more someone gets on page one - the more ‘publicity ‘ - and therefore fabs - their other public pics get!

So it’s a combination both of how well the picture did initially when it was posted - and how often the poster has reached hot photos since - therefore getting more fabs for the pic each time! So someone like Naughty Nympomaniac, for instance, who only started posting in May but has been on hot photos very frequently since - is likely to have more fabs on many of her public pics than someone who got to page 1 in January but hasn’t got there again since!

I get that but what makes me suspicious is the pics like the one of GrrKiwi on page one. It was uploaded December 18th 2016, so it only had about 10 days to be one of the most fabbed pics in 2016 if what you're saying is correct.

That's not impossible I know but that's some good going to get more fabs in ten days than others who post hot pics regularly throughout the year.

But surely a count of all fabs in 2017 should count them all, not just the spikes?

So a total of 7000 should still be higher than a total of 4000

No. I don't understand why it's not there. Because surely 2017 ran from 1 Jan to 31 Dec 17. In that time we had a pic fabd over 7000 times, but weren't featured. Yet People that had 4000 pics were.

It's surely a valid question?

Secondly I have posed a reasonable question and not bitched. I have asked if anyone know of a reason why the site calculation might be skewed somewhat.

Of course, if you have nothing to add that might help, you could just choose to stop posting?

Ok those pics with 4000 fabs last year may have over 20000 overall in their many years on the site it’s the overall figure that counts. As for you eyes only said if they make hot pics on a new pics the older ones still receive bloody hundreds more fabs.

Unless your pic as an overall total over 27000 you didn’t stand a chance

That may leave you feeling cheated but unfortunately it’s a case of suck it it buttercup

However your logic doesnt work when the particular pic im looking at has less than 400 fabs overall and was uploaded in march 16. They're overall figure , even over two years is still less than 4000! yet our pic was over 7000 in the last six weeks.

Mr theory is still standing up, the pic needs to have been on the site for the entire 12 months of 2017 to be counted.

So if the pic is uploaded in 2017 it doesn't count in hottest pics of 2017.

That's why all the pics on most fabbed pics of 2017 at the moment are all ones uploaded prior to 2017, mainly in 2016.

Only other possibilities are it hasn't updated yet, which becomes less likely as time goes on.

Or we are all being conned, which I don't believe is happening either.

I had a look and noticed the number above each pic is the amount for the last year. If you open the pics they have a different aggregate number. The too pic had more fabs in 2017 than the 2nd pic but, overall, the second pic has more fabs than the top pic. Curioser and curioser my dear Watson.

That's correct, you can see Fabs for 2017 and then overall if you click on the pic. Hence my theory of needing to be on the site the whole 12 months of 2017 to be counted and all the pics on there being uploaded prior to 2017!

I have no idea but it would explain why the OP's pic isn't included, why Miss.Reds pics aren't included and also why all of the pics on the hottest pics of 2017 were uploaded before 2017 and none actually in 2017!

I'm not saying I agree with it or even that I'm definitely right but it would explain a lot, that's all.

It could also just be that it hasn't updated yet as fyeo suggested, but I'm starting to doubt that.

You need to consider that sometimes on certain days hot pics are quieter than others though. I’ve been top of page 1 with a pic that only had about 800 fabs once but most days I’d be lucky to break into page one with that figure as the top pics are generally within their thousands for a day

Just because that's how the site has been setup to work, maybe it does an automatic count of fabs across all 12 months and if a pic isn't on the site in all of those months it just doesn't get included in the overall total.

Personally think membership timeframe is afactor all the main Ones I’ve clicked on have been members of the site for over a year. Not sure if the OP has or hasn’t as I’m blocked by her but I presume she hasn’t been given the pic shes questioning is from November, and you’ve only been on the site for 7months so could stand to reason

The OP has been on here a number of years and so have we on our singles profiles so membership time frame is only relevant in that you need to have been on here long enough to have had a picture on here 12 months, if my theory is correct.

I've said it enough times but my bet is that the pic needs to have been on here the whole 12 months of 2017 to be counted. I think the most fabbed of 2017 is up to date now and isn't going to change. I'm going to bed, will be happy to be proven wrong by an update in the morning

There was an early morning shock for couple when in the very first hour of 2018 it was discovered they weren't as well placed in an online tits and ass poll as they'd been hoping for. The last one was two ladies lying on a bed wearing only hold ups in a more than provocative pose.

If I hadn’t looked at those pics several times during the course of 2017 and so know 100% that they’re the 2016 pics - then I’d doubt myself!

2017 hottest photos will be for the most fabs collected on photos during the course of 2017 - whether they were posted in Jan or December!

I’ve reported it to admin - but as - as I’ve said - it’s a site of unpaid staff - I’m guessing there won’t be many admin working on New Years Day!

At 1am when it was first posted I’d have said it didn’t really matter!

It matters now because it hasn’t been rectified 11 hours later - so there’s clearly a glitch in the system which needs addressing like any other glitch - simply that!

Obviously a lot of people post and fab photos - it’s a feature of the site that almost all of us use to a greater or lesser extent (unless we neither Fab the pics of others or allow others to Fab our pics!) so the ‘hottest photos ‘ of the year is simply a culmination of that!

If no-one cared about fabs there wouldn’t, for instance, be the daily photo fabbing threads that many forumites partake in!

My point is that it’s simply a feature of the site that now clearly has a glitch so now needs rectifying!
