It could be an open question, don't let mine put you off.

I learned that some friends (real life) have troubles I wasn't aware of, and like me, don't like to burden people for help.

So my lesson, after begging them to ask for help, is I should do the same. I'm 'fine' is an answer that makes them feel better, not me.

Did you learn anything this last year? Did you pass your driving test? Can you play an instrument or learned a life lesson?

I learned to like myself a bit more.

I also learned how to balance a fidget spinner on my toe. 2017 was a good year.

That's said in a negative and a positive way.

I learnt that it’s ok not to be perfect, that sometimes good enough is just fine.

I also learnt that sometimes you have to put yourself first even though that means feeling bad about someone else.

And I learnt how to say blueberry in Slovak.

Everyone is so absorbed in their own drama that they rarely see the things you hate about yourself.

It's not all about me ...

I have only just REALLY understood this - not just parroting it like some low budget Yoda!

I don't think anyone can really claim to be fully adult until they get this, and so many never do

I realised that I'm actually really happy in my own skin and that it's not difficult to dust off negativity and be mindful

I also learnt that there's not as many safety cameras on the roads to Manchester as I thought so can thrash the nuts out of my car regularly

I learned what it feels like to a have a body that is yours and not a prison. After decades of being trapped, I'm now physically female and it feels great.

I also learned I must relearn most of what I thought I knew. That whilst self absorption is a great passer of time, it blinds us to our real self. I learned that in diagnosing the problem in others, I'm usually diagnosing myself, and so whilst sex is great, especially in this new body, it is love that I seek.

I learned that the world is neither fair nor just, and that business and politics is no different from the playground antics of bullies. Lawful till caught.

And so I finally fully appreciated the wisdom I was given as a child... don't take anything personally unless its on the end of your nose; and before diagnosing yourself with depression, as boring or no fun, first off make sure you're not simply surrounded by arseholes.

Enjoy 2018 all..

That I’m actually quite happy being me, I’m not the bad person I was made out to be. And that I still have the capacity to love someone and not be scared it’s going to be used against me.

And that I need to be careful how much I drink in future x

I learned that I don’t have many friends, lots of people are fake and that I only have a very tiny circle of people in my life but you know what? I’m happy knowing this information because I feel at peace with myself now more than ever.

I learned that Ads and I are stronger than ever after going through a bit of a rough patch and talking is a wonderful thing and discovering things that we didn’t know and now we are in the kind of relationship that is more open and honest and doing the things that make both of us happy.

I learned who to trust and who not to, I’ve learned some social skills, in that a conversation goes both ways lol.

I’ve also learned to love myself a bit more, not to be so down on myself and love my body.

I've learned that sex toys really shouldn't be in your carry-on luggage unless you're prepared to have them publicly scrutinized by passengers and staff in the airport security

I've learned that raspberry flavouring comes from a beaver's anus (I read it on the forums so it must be true!!!).

And yes OP... I learned to play a musical instrument... Think you might know which one....

i learned that cancer doesn't have to be so scary if you let others in..

its so easy to feel alone and to close yourself off from everyone around you but by talking with people and sharing how you feel, it makes everything just a little more bearable.

Move your best friend in to the spare room as she's having hard times.Give her food,Money,Buy her clothes.Listern to her and give her your heart and the best advice you can.

Then she repays you with trying to have sex with your boyfriend.

I’ve learned to accept that sometimes ‘it is what it is’ and you can’t always change what ‘it’ is, was or is even going to be, so don’t try

I’ve learned that being a good mum is sometimes letting go and being more laid back

I’ve nearly learned to leave the shoes out of the shoe box, to leave the cup in the sink for a little while, and to not plump the cushions 50 million times a day

I say nearly, it’s a work in progress, as for all my other more serious ocd traits, well this is just the beginning, hey!

I've always been the friend who's always been there for all my small hand full of friends, through thick and thin, good and bad no matter what.

But when the boot is on the other foot that's when you really find out who your true friends are.

I agree, and just because someone goes against my moral doesn’t mean they are immoral! people have experiences that create their character and how they see the world, you don’t have to agree with them but you can if not understand it, respect it, saves a lot of arguments xx

I have been on a journey of learning and re-learning everything I know from scratch. Started a business working through the ups and downs which I will be closing in Spring later on this year. Learning to take things step by step, improving on myself, repairing past self-inflicted damages.
