"friendship" ???

Ok so when wanting to MEET anyone., i prefer to develop a "friendship" .

Wanting to get to know the other and hopefully learning a little about them in order to have a NICE time laters

Am i strange or wot ?

cant just meet and shag !

But prefer some meaninigful contact, be it sexual preference or having a similar in humour etc

Someone I met from here is one of my best friends now, I don't anticipate every woman I meet being like that, but you do, I at least I do, need to have some sort of connection, otherwise you might as well just go on the pull in a bar.

i think for some people swinging offers the opportunity for sex without having to do the friendship bit as well...some really get off on the stranger thing

and for others the social / friendship aspect is more important and getting to know playmates adds an extra dimension to the sex .

there's room for both types ( tho they are unlikely to play together ) but what there's less room for are the nasty comments seen here

Totally agree with you, friendship aswell as sex, love the sex but so much better when you have a rapport, some passion and able to have a decent conversation, have some laughs ,and depending on what kind of sex your about to have, at least some trust lol. xxx

i prefer to meet on a more personal level. and get to know someone.

I think good sex comes from forming some sort of connection myself.

Tho i dont rule out instantanious quickie sex if thats what happens or otherwise

As for making "friends"

i have friends on ere that im never gonna meet cos of the distance but we chat regular in chatrooms and msn...so its not always bout sex...

but i dont think ur doing yourself any favours by being so negative, people will pick up on that and steer clear, and your not helping the rest of genuine single guys, people will think they all the same...

I think you are right. Much better to get to know them a bit first online or have nothing to say. Also getting to know them online you can see if you like them as person and not just somebody to fuck. You can't just go by somebodies photo. If you do when you meet them they be horrible as a person, full of themselves etc

I could not agree more. I have to get to know the person first. I once met a guy because he looked hot in his profile pic. I met him and he was sexy but an absolute dick. No personality and loved himself. I made my excuses and left the pub after about 30 mintues. I am not shallow. I go for more than looks. Sure I like hot guys but give me an ordinary guy with a personality over a hot guy without a personality anyday. Swinging it not just about sex.

Okay, my take:

I joined (like most people) to explore sexual adventures with others (I for one have NEVER believed anyone that said "I became a swinger to make new friends" as I believe you don't have to be a swinger to make friends) but in the process found friends among the people I've met (both played and not played with (reasons irrelevant).

Now some prefer "friendship first", depending what each person defines as friendships (some prefer the swinging without involving their personal or private lives, whilst some don't appreciate propositions if you haven't asked how their kids and Aunt Bessie are doing) and what durations these can take (some prefer to develop things over a month.. some you're still meeting up with regularly for coffee whilst developing the friendship - yet a year later you still haven't "progressed to play")

I don't think the debate of "Friendship or Fuck First" is a clear cut one, it depends with each person. I appreciate the friendships, but I'm still primarily here to play. I enjoy the social aspect (I hate saying "social side" - since when did swinging have a "side" and how many "sides" are there?) however I'd hate for anyone to think "as long as he's socialising he;s happy", yet I don't want to give the impression "if he ain't fucking, he ain't happy".

For me its about striking the balance on a person by person basis. Its hard ('scuse the pun) to play with a stranger, but that doesn't mean I need ot know their life history in order to play with them. In a club or party for instance, a name where from, playing experience and general turn-ons are usually enough to know if there's potential for more (either there, or note the number/email for future contact) but its not set in stone.

Just my thoughts, sorry for waffling.
