Teenagers experience numerous changes physically, socially, and emotionally My girl 18 and has gone from a loving girl to a really nude nasty who likes her own way and if i say how i feel she has no time to here my views on nothing she is right and its just me she is like this too, lol just hope i get my nice girl back and my others was not like this ... think boys are easier then girls .

Did yours change..?? did thay go back to normal. lol xx

I don't know I am going through it Rosie is 13 and at times hell on earth. She is fantastic at school but I get all her crap at home.

maybe because we are so close thay feel thay can do it to us not sure .... i am easy going and have time to here what ever she wish to say ..

Unfortunatly it is a thing with teenagers. When callum got to 12 he started having tantrums where he would literally throw himself around the room bouncing of the walls. He got gobby as well. He left home at 16 and it was the best thing ever cause our relationship became fantastic overnight.

He still has mood swings. Sometimes i phone him and all i get is a grunt then other times he can talk for england.

Try not to take it personally jo and try to remember what it was like for us when we where going through it.

My son got like that when he was nineteen, became like a different person. Used to take it out on me when he wasnt happy. It started when things werent going right with his girlfriend, then when he finished with her. There not the same people when they grow up, its a bit like being with a stranger sometimes. We were still quite close though, but it was better when he left home when he was in his twenties. Still cryed when he left home though. Luckily he doesnt live too far away now.

My middle daughter tried to be rude and have her own way until I pointed out it was my house, and in my house I was Queen, Sultana, High Priestess, Maharani, President and Prime Minister and she wasn't being held hostage in my kingdom and was free to go.

Funny how she suddenly realised where her bread was buttered and behaved herself.

I wasn't having it!

I think of my children's teenage years as a period when they went insane for a while. Fortunately they all survived and went on to be lovely adults. Only advice I can give parents is, before you say anything to them, count to 10 and remember the smiling little darlings they used to be.....

well its nice to know i am not only one having this she had a driving test today 3 time never passed and been in her room most of the day .. if i ask why she will go into one i bet so i am letting her tell me .. when she is ready , lol all i would have said never mind theres always a next time ..

ive got 3 girls 23, 21, 13, it was the calm b4 the storm with my 13yr old! but i have faith, my other 2 have fantastic jobs and partners, i just need ear plugs for next 5yrs! x

Teenagers are awesome!

On the one hand everyone misses their 'wee one', but that small person is never coming back, they're gone for good.

Overnight your kid turns into an all knowing, all seeing font of knowledge on any topic under the sun. You have become surplus to requirements and are now mostly required for carrying out various domestic duties on their behalf - these duties are, of course, way below their level and any expectation that they might like to 'pitch in' and help will be met by the definitive blank stare.

That's the bad news.

The good new is that, in fact, your teenager is thick as mince, has no idea what's happening to them or their body and is undergoing a massive period of adjustment while they get used to the idea of being 'big'.

It soon turns out that whilst you thought you were surplus to requirements, they actually need you more than ever because they are completely clueless as to how to operate in this brave new world they have entered.

Once you understand this, and establish a mutually agreeable line of communication with them, you are back in the game as a parent. And it's great fun. Because they think they know it all. But they don't. Which means you can mess with their heads. Especially regarding matters of a sexual nature. Because they think you are messing with them, but they're not quite sure. My favourite example here (for a Teenage boy) is to casually, but with a straight face, ask him if his third ball has dropped yet.

Wait for the pause. Wait for the look. Wait for the 'What?'. and then move the conversation on to something else, saying 'never mind, it takes longer for some people than others...' and walk away.

Trust me, the little fucker won't know if you're shitting him or not.

If you have Teenage girls, or just want to stop a child of either gender dead in their tracks, the best possible line is to remind them nonchalantly that "I have seen your Mum/Dad naked". This will stop 'em dead. At which point you continue. "In fact, I've had sex with your Mum/Dad. A lot. And I'd like to talk to you about it. Especially your Mums/Dads favourite position and method..."

Your child's eyes will now fill with terror. This is knowledge they do NOT want to have. You are about to paint them a picture they do NOT want to see.

It is at this point that you give them the option of not talking about such matters if they tidy their fucking room.

My sons room is immaculate.

The same daughter I mentioned earlier, her dad paid £500 for a crash course (no pun intended) of driving lessons...she failed. He paid another £400 for her to repeat it with the same school...she failed.

Her response - if her dad and I had a car that she could practice on, or we had bought her a car she wouldn't have failed - it was our fault!

For her 21 I sent her and her sister shopping in New York with £500 spending money - enough for a long weekend. When she came back and I asked her if she'd done so and so she said she would have done if I'd given her enough money!!!

She and her boyfriend used to give me £100 a month for their keep until they booked holiday in Las Vegas for Christmas and bought an Audi TT when they should be saving.

Naturally I'm unreasonable askin for more money - as I keep telling them don't let the door smack them in the arse on the way out...kids!

see i love the curiosity that the teenage years bring, when you see them becoming their own characters and i've gotta say i quite like the cheekyness (even the moodyness amuses me)

i remember staying in a friends caravan with her, her 2 boys and one of their mates. they'd be about 12/13

when they went out in the evening - on the prowl in the way only a lad of that age can master - i went in my toiletries back and gave um all a squirt of my aftershave

all 3 of um lined up and had a dab behind the ears.

1 of them pointed to the bag and said 'have you got anything else in there that girls will like?'

it just made me chuckle - that mix of innocence when they think they are worldly wise is just ace

No1 son has always been a laid back kinda guy and has never changed. No2 son is 13 and trying my patience but he runs if I raise my voice, and if I were to give him a slap his eyes would fill with tears.

Daughter on the other hand was a nightmare from hell.

My ex once asked was it her hormones .... I replied .... AT THREE YEARS OLD? NO !!!!!

Saying that she is a lovely woman now and has a super well behaved kid of her own. ( a boy)

Me and my daughter get on like a house on fire, and I am dreading her leaving home when she goes to uni.

Yes, she was a little shit when she was about 8, but as she has grown older we've grown closer. She is aware that I can't afford to pay for everything, and understands that the things she wants she has to work for. We have some great chats, and she is aware (and reasonably tolerant) of my lifestyle. I am very proud of her.

our daughter is twelve and omg she is very stroppy been like this since she was ten gone from a perfect little princess to a devil lol. But i remember me at that age and older and she is not a patch on me so fingers crossed she will get through it in time we all have to go through this though its all part of growing up pushing the boundries and the cheakyness.
