I think the background of the shot is pretty important, you might look great but the background can either make you stand out or look lost in the picture, that's my tip fwiw.

Ah but he asked what pics turn people on. My answer is something that shows imagination. That attracts me to a profile. That's what does it for me. No one specific picture type. Feel free to ignore my comment though op if it isn't helpful enough
