This is my first Christmas without my boys so I am very glad I am working. Of course we will be having ‘our Christmas’ a week later but it just isn’t the same. I know they will have fun with their dad, step mum, nan and grandma but still feels a bit meh, as it gets closer I’m just finding myself getting more and more upset by it.

Maybe we should try to matchmake people close by who are eating alone to get some company. I was going to be alone but now I’ll be with my dad. It’s the first Christmas since my mum died and originally he wanted to eat alone but I don’t think he really does deep down. I’m not sure anyone does. I was considering going abroad just to get away from everything.

Working Xmas n boxing day by choice,not anti Xmas but when I was a kid it started week before 25th lol or even putting decs up Xmas Eve,this commercialised,hyped,stuff your face,get pissed n spend what you haven't got ain't to do with Xmas,not being miserable just don't want anything to do with that tat

It’s even worse when my clients are working and I am not, and getting emails that they want answering today. It’s ok if a yes or no item that I can answer on phone, but if it something that requires more than that then they are going to have to wait 28th when I am back

I think the hedonistic among us, of which I would say there are one or two, should start a parliamentary petition going to make the winter solstice a public holiday.

This is the day Mother Earth starts to turn her northern face to the sun and the soil begins warm ready to be fertile and give up her fruits.

So next year let’s get naked at Stonehenge dance around a pentangle formed from naked women feast on English wine and meat and plant the seed of life!

Christmas just reminds me of massive family arguments growing up and I hate the big fuss each year. I only tolerate it and make some effort as I have a little girl, but this year she is at her dads on Xmas day so I intend to spend the day in bed eating pizza with my cat, and perhaps get a toyboy round for the evening's entertainment

I think I’ll join you all. It all went pear shaped this morning when getting horses in and one of the buggers trod on my achilles. Have now spent the day watching my ankle swell up and seize up.

Thankfully I’ve got a bottle of single malt to numb the pain.
