Turkey, sprouts leek and bacon, baby carrots, roasties, Yorkshire pudding, pigs in blankets.

No bread sauce, no cranberry shit but proper gravy. Made it a few weeks ago.

Well we’re doing two Christmas’ this year one for Ads kids and one for mine, so one is roast gammon with honey and the other is lamb, Ads and I will have a full turkey dinner at my work on Monday!

A joint of silverside, roast spuds, Yorkies (Aunt Bessie style), sprouts, mashed swede, baby carrots and horseradish sauce and loads of gravy is what's going on my plate. I'm buying it and ma mate (Brother Dave)is cooking it

We forgot to put the Yorkshires in last year though. Probably too much JD beforehand was the cause of that

Has to be turkey, and it’s never dry. Put butter under the skin, cover in bacon, cook until just about done (removing bacon for the last 30) turn upside down to rest and to keep the juices into the breast meat, cover also. Remove the breast and slice width ways and not long ways so it’s thicker and retains moisture, bloody lovely. Lots of roast veg, pigs in blankets and the trimmings to accompany with homemade turkey gravey,,, yummy seriously and can’t wait!

Roast duck, pigs in blankets, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, carrots, Jerusalem artichokes, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower cheese and gravy.

OK it is a bit excessive cooking all that for one but I don't see why I should miss out just because I'm on my own.

I've had a change of plan, my local curry house is rewarding my business throughout the year with a free sit down five course curry for 6 of us

And I've decided it would be rude not to accept, I've asked him and his family round in January for a late xmas meal at mine.

Choice of smoked salmon with capers and brown bread or red onion and goat's cheese tartlets to start.

Roast stuffed turkey, honey and mustard glazed ham, carrots, sprouts with bacon, cauliflower cheese, roast and creamed potatoes, red wine gravy for main.

Choice of plum pudding with brandy butter or a toffee and chocolate brazil cheesecake for dessert.

Finished off with dirty great Irish coffees....

One of my ex g/f's mother used to have extra large plates which only ever saw the light of day at Xmas. We used to take doggy bags of the stuff home and could practically live off it for about a week lol

Get the turkey in.

Empty the sacks.

Erupte with happiness.

That’s just the kids...

We will open the

Fizz, I will prep the dinner, cook it in a Floyd style, open more fizz, eat it.

Open the family presents under the tree.

Go to the pub on my own, a ritual I used to go with my Dad, say thank you to both my parents, them come home and fall asleep, well if the kids will let me.

And smile.

I'm not cooking Xmas Day I'll be with my sisters family - but I'll be making an early Xmas dinner on Saturday for my best girl.

I'm doing roast beef and chicken with stuffing, yorkshire puddings, goose fat roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, roast parsnips and carrots, broccoli, cabbage and sprouts, stuffing, pigs in blankets, cauliflower cheese and thick gravy.

Then I'll be eating the left overs for the rest of my life
