Just come of a year on Sertraline due to mild ptsd and now i think im actually going insane. I keep getting these zapping sensations. They seem to come from my ears. Anyone have any idea how long they last ?

Regardless of what people say on here, if you are worried, get yourself into the Docs.

A few things come to mind...

See the Doctor and ask him again if you're not happy.

If it's a normal side effect then don't worry, expect it to happen and know it will pass. Don't stress.

Chap I was on them in the same boat. Coming off cold turkey was horrendous I had the “zaps” in my neck and shoulders was a real sick feeling. Took me a month to feel normal again.

I don’t envy you. I had someone pull me through it.

No idea if it’s connected or anything else but I have ptsd and get sharp pains in my head some days, sometimes there are lots in one day then others none for weeks, I’ve never had treatment tho so it’s probably separate, hope you’re feeling better now though op, sending hugs

4-6 weeks feels like the norm for me.

I get those when I Havnt taken mine for 3 or 4 days, naughty I know but sometimes I just forget. I do believe they can last anywhere from 4-6 weeks however as this post is over a year old they should be well and truly behind you now

This class of meds needs a controlled, phased reduction and discontinuation, to help to minimise potential side effects

Really, that's something I wish I knew earlier this year.
