From the fella in this couple - I'd hang on to that bod for as long as I could. you reach a point in life when you can't stay in that shape anymore and you'll long for the days you had abs if you don't enjoy the gym however that's a different story . But I'd say stay in that shape .

Take that same dedication, commitment and time, and direct it at something else. It might be something you already do, or it could be something new like learning a new language, learning to paint, doing a degree or masters.

Personally I admire anyone that is dedicated to working out .. its damn hard work and tbh if it mayes them feel really good about themselves then bloody good luck to them

As for ‘its so look at me’ - why the hell not ! You yourself spend hours at the gym ifvits not so you look good and feel good then why bother ????

As someone attracted to other men I think both can be incredibly sexy but it all comes down to confidence, and different physiques are better on different people. I can be more turned on by a stocky bloke who's a bit rough round the edges with a pot belly than a 'beautiful' one who looks amazing, definitely takes care of himself but cannot hold a conversation and doesn't have any craic.

TBH I’ve found men seem to be more bothered about this (having - or not having- a six pack) than most women are!

I’d say a six pack on a guy is the equivalent of 34ee breasts on a woman. Many like them, but few insist upon them!

Do what makes you happy op - your call as long as you’re healthy and happy! X

There’s many different forms of exercise to keep in shape other than purely gym work. In fact, it’s good to experiment and furthermore keeps things more interesting as opposed to stagnating through performing the same monotonous movements/reps etc. ad infinitum

OP if you are happy in your own body then that's all that matters.

Don't worry about what others think or change to suit them.

All over the place! Northwesr, , Southwest

If you've a fit, toned body why not work to keep it if you like the end result? It is a lot harder to get back in shape if you wish in the future if you give up your gym as opposed to maintaining what you currently have.

I go to the gym, i'm fit, but i'm not hung up on trying to reclaim the six pack I had in my twenties, and I think it's a non issue for most women tbh.

Embrace what your maker gave you. If something makes you happy, thats all that matters. Personally I eat what I want and I've been lucky to have a fast metabolism, but I've always been built like a streak of piss, and never felt the need to buff up when it's been the "in" look.

I keep myself in good shape. A good diet and i run a few miles every morning. Although i'll never be that 11 stone soldier i once was. Back then i could do an 8 miler with both kit and a hangover.

"I can honestly say I've never once been to the gym . I bike everywhere , walk the dog twice a day , drink lots of water ,eat fruit n veg . For me that's all I need . I'm still slim . Don't have a six pack but feel healthy so that's all that matters to me "

You're welcome. Just goes to show, you don't have to spend money to keep fit and healthy. I prefer the naturally, healthy look.

I’m not a gym junkie I do a few hours here and there I figure you should keep in reasonable shape so you’re partner finds you hot...moobs aren’t a good look. You’re both gonna get old and eventually have to reach down to her ankles for a tit wank while your balls will scrape on the floor enjoy it while it lasts!

Can't do the gym myself, I tend to get out doing plenty of swimming, cycling and running, I'll never be sculpted like some people but I'm fairly happy with my Dad bod

Just to be awkward I like somewhere in between. Mr used to work out a lot and was very physically active, his legs looked like a Marvel character's! He's not so active now (and a Dad!) but still has a great overall build without being scarily ripped. I find that quote intimidating.

I like the kind of build that a lot of manual workers have. Guys that have worked with their bodies for years and so have a decent shape but still enjoy a pint and a curry.

"There’s many different forms of exercise to keep in shape other than purely gym work. In fact, it’s good to experiment and furthermore keeps things more interesting as opposed to stagnating through performing the same monotonous movements/reps etc. ad infinitum "

Exactly - I would say eat well and do something you enjoy - cycle, swim, whatever.
