Lets shine a light at Christmas

Christmas can be an emotional tough time for lots of people, even moreso if you have lost someone in the year.

My best friend passed away in June, that horrible thing called depression gripped her hard and now, more than anytime over the course of the last few months I am thinking about her as she loved this time of year.

So everyone, if you have lost anyone. If it be this year or past years and it still feels like yesterday, let’s light a candle for them and give them a toast.

I lost my brother in law to depression 5 years ago. Every year a candle is lit and a glass of his favourite tipples are put next to the candle throughout the day.

Even though it's a while ago now I think fondly of him as when he had good days he was on form... But the bad days were not worth thinking about.

I know he's in a happy place now and is a guardian angel to my son now.
