know anyone really serious?

That loves a political debate and is overly passionate about subjects that you know little about?

Do they make you feel a bit uninformed or a little bored?

I like to laugh and I'm naturally attracted to people with a good sense of humour - and people that don't take life too seriously!

What about you?

You may need to realise that a good sense of humour is subjective and those of us who can handle serious conversation can also handle serious humour also

I wonder why you need to feel your sense of humour is more superior than another's ?

I like both, with an obvious preference for humour. But yes, I do know people who only do the serious thing and have that sense of being right all the time, they can be tedious but I can also turn that into humour by playing up to them and getting them into conversations almost puppet-like

I have one friend like that and he alienates himself pretty quickly with his views, we all like a good debate but we also enjoy a good laugh too, but he struggles to see the funny side of anything.

I love a good debate but I appreciate good humour more.

Someone who is always serious would drive me insane and as said before, I amuse myself by outsmarting them, luring them into conversations for the sake of finding my own humour.

There's a few on here. As soon as they join the thread I tend to leave it alone as they are quite belligerent and think their view is the only one that matters.

Depends on the subject. I used to represent my organisation giving public talks that were always well recieved. If I talked about one of my hobbies I could bore you to stone...

That's always a turn off to a debate, and not really a debate if they won't listen to others opinions and can't be rational.............oh, you've gone!

Yes I do, she also suffers with depression and severe anxiety, I'm pretty sure the two are connected.

The best way to survive life is not to take it too seriously.

A serious debate is fine but if someone has a sense of humour it usually means they can see both sides of the argument which makes it more engaging.

Single minded people who are absolutely certain are less fun
