Love yourself

I was having a chat with someone about how sometimes you need to feel special. Even if its just for a short time and to just one person.

We got round to talking about why can't that person be you?

So do you think youre special? If you met you in person would you love you?

Do you love yourself despite your flaws or do you let them take priority in your self assessment? If that's the case why don't you change it?

I’m my biggest critic, I know my flaws so can’t mask them. I try to be the best I can but I know I have many faults. It’s easier to love someone else but as I’ve got older I have learnt to love and respect myself more but it’s not always easy!

I wouldn't say I love myself, I struggle with my self confidence at times....but I know I'm a good person, that's enough for now, I'm working on the loving myself

Northampton Somewhere

I'm a nice person and I'm learning to love myself, flaws 'an all.

You have to otherwise at some point I think you'd go slightly bananas

Nope I know my faults.

If I was meeting someone else the same as me I'd forgive them their faults and accept them as they are. I can't do that for myself.

Hiding in the shadows

I'm perfectly, imperfect.

It's taken me a long time get to where I am, and there's still a few things I'm working on.

But I'm happy. I'll get where I'm going.

The relationship you have with yourself is the most important one you'll ever have. Amazing how shitty you treat yourself at times though and how little time we spend nurturing that relationship too.

I learnt a very long time ago to love myself, at one point I couldn’t even look in a mirror I hated everything about me, I got really fed up feeling this way and would just eat and eat to try to make myself feel better, I applied for the army to try to change who I was and become fitter maybe I would love myself!! I didn’t make the army because I was then diagnosed with cervical cancer I knew I had to fight against it, after what felt like a long slow struggle I did I came through the other end and from then I told myself I needed to change in my eyes I’d been given another chance in life and I should live it loving myself and having fun! Now I can’t understand why or how I could hate myself as much as I did back then, I love me in every way shape and form just sad to know it took a kick up the arse like that for me to realise how beautiful I really am inside and out

a quandary, could you change my mind?

Not comfortable with loving myself at all, look in the mirror as least often as possible, I know I am who I am simple as that for me.

If we change are we really changing for ourselves or others?

Yup, I think I’d be rather pleased to meet myself.

Hello samta.

Oh, hi samta. That’s a mighty fine sack!

Why thank you samta, I’ve just splashed the contents all over your wife.

If you're changing for others then you're screwed.

I know I’m my own worst critic, I don’t like much about myself. I’m trying but it’s taking me time to undo some emotional damage I’ve endured. I know I’m a nice person but my looks and body aren’t the best. X

hey I'm lovely most if not all who have met me like me but I suppose its difficult to say you love yourself without sounding arrogant but I like myself for sure ,the proof is in the meeting

I’m beginning to feel a lot more comfortable with myself, and I might even go as far as saying I’m almost, very nearly, like really close to loving myself

I'd enjoy meeting myself. Same sense of humour, same level of respect for others.

I think I'm a nice person and I've got past worrying what others think of me.

..

I would like to meet me to see if I could work me out

I don’t really know how I feel about me to be honest. I know I’m a good person, I’m loyal, kind and caring. That’s important to me and I like that about me. Other than that .... not sure, particularly with regard to looks. Need to think about that one.

I'm happy, I've found myself, and yes.. I love myself... and deep down, the only person who will love you, is YOU... if you can achieve that, then good things in life will follow!
