A good nights sleep starts long before getting into bed.

Read instead of watching the TV.

Eat early enough so you're not lying on a full belly.

Ditch the mobile devices, they emit stimulating light.

Keep your bedroom at a balanced temperature, not baking hot, not arctic cool.

Sleep naked, it helps to regulate your temperature, and that of your duvet.

Empty your mind of the days thoughts that trouble you.

The scent of lavender is relaxing, try lavender incense or candles, but make sure they're extinguished before sleep obviously.

3 big gulps of milk before bed. A good wank. Then head down complete darkness no books , iPads , tv nothing, heating off. If you wake so not look at time or open eyes. Just get comfortable. Should help. Try to think of nothing at all it's hard but it works you concentrate so hard on not trying to tho

No you fall asleep with out any stress about work kids travel or Xmas or anything

Don't drink, it's counter intuitive, you think it makes you sleepy but over all effect is poor sleep pattern.

I agree with the advise to take no phones or tablets to bed, no distractions is the key for me to have a good night's sleep

Near Carmarthen

NO computer screens, phones or mobiles for 2 hours or so before you go to bed as they emit 'blue light'.

Blue light affects levels of the sleep-inducing hormone melatonin more than any other wavelength.

I have to be careful about how much I drink (water) as I often have to get up during the night. Also when I exercise as the endorphins can rage, so very little to drink after 9pm and more exercise in the morning for me

Half a bottle of Jack Daniels and decaf seems to work for me. Added to a day of Christmas shopping.
