There wasn’t much else to do in N Ireland in the early 80s

The bizarre thing, looking back, is I used to buy it aged 13/14 - because I was the tallest

I don’t think I was fooling anyone

There was some good stuff in the early 80s, admittedly some real diabolical trash too, I reckon 1984 was last year of decent music, downhill from there... I mean look at the stuff today????

Luckily I don't ... my extensive music collection has everything from classical to country, loads of 80s, some 90s, but I don't think there's anything after 2000 apart for new stuff released by my fave 80s bands

Leeds

I remember 1981 and can say it was the year it all kicked off. Mass unemployment, racial tensions and riots in major cities - Brixton, Toxeth, Chapeltown and Handsworth.

The Specials summed it up - "This place is like a ghost town."

While Duran Duran were swanning around on yachts in Brazil.
