I've just tucked into the braised steak I put in this morning and I don't even need a knife to cut through it it's that tender.

Casseroles are my favourite during winter, any meat till do, beef, chicken, lamb, rabbit, venison.

As long as it used to be alive, I'll eat it

Scouse it's delish I'm having it for tea with crusty bread .

I did make while shepherds watches their socks pie last night . A shepherds pie but with all spices in and wow it was delish with a hint of Christmas pud

I'm quite good at making stews, but everytime I make dumplings, they turnout like cannonballs

you can do loads of stuff in them and the meat is so tender

Stew is cooked on fire or heat applied from only underneath and casserole is in oven or other

Lancashire Hotpot and I put anchovies in it served with braised apple and red cabbage. I love the crispy potatoes on the top and the lamb melts in your mouth.

you can do loads of stuff in them and the meat is so tender

I obviously should have paid more attention when one of ma ex gf's mother made them, they always turned out light & fluffy.

Mind you, I think mine turn out slightly better than the ones ma dad used to make, you'd have been excused for using a pneumatic drill to penetrate those bad boys

I find they can be a bit hit and miss, a bit like Yorkshire puddings, you always cook them the same way, but sometimes they just don't work!
