Men stating that BBW are welcome

Jump to newest

By (user no longer on site) OP

I know I maybe letting myself in for abuse.

But why do they feel the need to put that bbw's/big women are welcome. Is this not segregating them out (yes I am classed as obese). I can understand the one stating no bigger people.

I suspect this has been asked before.

Polite answers welcome.

Maybe they put that because thats what they prefer or they think that it makes them more welcoming to bbws etc, I personally prefer the fuller figure but I'm not sure I'd be comfortable stating that on my profile, yeah some people wouldn't be upset by it,but I think wouldn't want someone to read it and be upset by it.

Isn’t this exactly the same as anyone saying ‘big cocks welcome’ ?

Or lots of other ...welcomes ?

I personally don’t see any issue with it at all. We’re here to hopefully meet people that we like. Stating things like this in a profile, to me, is an expression of their wish.

So many people are so offended on here!

Why do you care how other people run their profiles OP?

It's their profile - they an put whatever they want on there.

Because in the regular dating world, fat does not have a high ratio of demand (low) to supply (high). Therefore, they are simply making a statement that their preferences are different to the norm, which is logical.

A BBW isn't their first choice but they'll do them a favour and lower their standards, so they're welcome to message.

Different from saying I find different body types attractive or I prefer larger women.

Plenty of women's profiles saying - "Big cocks only" & "no fatties" - so being welcomed is hardly something to complain about, in fact it's a pretty original complaint!

People put on their profile what they like. Or what they don't like.

Their profile. They can put what the hell they like on it.

If I don't like whats on their profile, I tend to move on to the next perving opportunity.

It is that exactly.. "welcome" makes it sound like "I'm making an exception"

I can understand why some would take umbrage at the use of the term, however it's a well embedded part of Fab speak, only it's use here does not quite fit it's context.

Anything below that is just a curvy woman. Bbw in my opinion is when the curves start to fill out. But this is an entirely different subject. Let's not get down in the s with it.

It's probably just a way of high lighting their preference.

I only meet slim men and have that on my profile, hasn't seem to be an issue with anyone as yet.

I find women who feel the need to announce they are bigger/bbw is a bit weird, slim women don't announce it on their profiles, surely your pictures speak for themseleves?

It’s just badly worded IMO ... and there are a lot of profiles on Fab with awful wording, spelling, grammar etc!!

As for the ‘BBW’ label, does it matter? You are the size you are & you’re either comfortable with it or you’re not. Anyone attracted to bigger women isn’t going to stop & check your weight/height/size/BMI to see whether you’re classed as BBW or not!!

The fashion world classes size 12 as ‘plus size’. High street stores class size 16 as ‘XL’, some even start that at size 14. The ‘plus size’ brands like SimplyBe start at size 14. I’m an 18 in some stores/brands & a 22 in others!

It’s just a label & it’s completely subjective.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, not in the numbers on a tape measure!!

It’s not the most flattering wording however it wouldn’t deter me if I liked the rest of the profile. Larger ladies aren’t everyone’s tastes and in my case I’m not easy to please nor eager to please so I’m actually bloody hard work too. It’s easier to find someone who may fit what I need if they indicate that they don’t mind a bit of chub.

I like larger ladies generally due to the fact that i find chubby cheeks bloody cute. They also are more likely to have bigger boobs. This is something I unashamedly love.

I am fully aware that what I have just said could cause someone to take offence despite that not being my intention. Thus I wouldn't put it on my profile. That and it isn't a deal breaker anyway.

"Think we might be over thinking this. 'Society' says fat people are unattractive, they're just stating that they do find find fat people attractive. "

Pretty much this. There are men who genuinely find all body types attractive, depending on the individual. If they understand that the larger woman has been conditioned by society to feel that nobody could find them attractive, and as such may be reluctant to message anyone, then stating they are open to all body sizes seems sensible. But as always with weight and size issues, people can be really touchy, some will take even the best attempt at inclusivity as an insult.
