I've seen lots of posts on your favourite this and favourite that but how about one that's a bit more down to earth. What's your favourute prime mover?

I cut my teeth on an asthmatic old Fordson Dexta that was addicted to Easy Start as a boy but my all time favourite has to be the Massey Ferguson 135.

John Deere every time followed by JCB but that would need converting to qualify for this.

Wow, that's a blast from the past. As a young man i worked on a farm where one of the tractor drivers was actually a german tank driver prisoner of war who never went home. He loved his David Brown, they also had a Case David Brown - bloody hopeless.

We use to have a MF35, I restored it with my dad when I was about 12.

Tractor fact:

The Ferguson System (the hydraulic 3-point linkage), brainchild of the engineer Harry Ferguson, was first developed during WW1 and introduced as a standard in the 1930's, has since been fitted to all subsequent tractor designs across the world. A time when British engineering was truly on top of the world.

Hiding in the shadows

"I've seen lots of posts on your favourite this and favourite that but how about one that's a bit more down to earth. What's your favourute prime mover?

I cut my teeth on an asthmatic old Fordson Dexta that was addicted to Easy Start as a boy but my all time favourite has to be the Massey Ferguson 135. "

First thing I learnt to drive, aged 7 was a Massey 135. My grandad had to attach wooden blocks to the pedals for me!

Dunfermline

I have an ability to suck large quantities of air and blow it out thru me backside. I learned how to do this because I'm an ex tractor fan.
