How come there are 365 days in the year? Im confused

A year is the amount of time it takes for Earth to orbit the sun.

A day it the amount of time it takes for the earth to rotate once on its axis.

Weeks and months are arbitrary measurements that have been created to allow people to keep track of events, they're not a scientific measurement of anything.

You will get really confused in a leap year

The fact is there isnt 52 weeks but 52 weeks and 1/7th of a week.

That's why your birthday is a different day of the week each year. And it moves 2 days on a leap year.

Because there's 365days 5 hours and change in a solar year.

A seven day week was adopted around 2500 years ago based on celebrating religion every 7th day apparently

I remember this in a pub quiz but tbf I'd been drinking

It's some thing like there actually being 365.25 days but that doesn't divide easily by 7 so they chuck in a leap year to make up the difference

sometimes the earth spins quicker, sometimes slow. Some speculate this is based on how many sprouts I have eaten on any particular day, however this is yet to be proven.

That's right!

It takes the earth 364 days to to turn one full rotation but if there wasn't an odd day left over we couldn't have Boxing Day off as well as Christmas Day so someone keeps their finger on the turntable to make it turn a tiddly bit slower....... so 365 and a day off.
