To be honest with you I think a lot of British people born here wouldn't know the geography and history of there own country.

I've got no problem with tests the same as you do if you want Australian citizenship

Most British citizens don't know about Wordsworth, pga golf, contents of the citizenship test, reformation, when rugby was founded etc etc.

Very odd set of questions. I did wonder if it was actually a fake site pushing some other agenda.

That is not actual website to test, it is for practicing for the exam, so I think there are some random questions... Tried few other set of tests and passed only 1 among 3 set of questions...

Interesting. I have German friends living here who ended up visiting more local historical sites than I ever have.

Assuming that it is an accurate reflection of the questions asked.

Many of them are simply irrelevant to living in the UK in the 21st century.

Any idea what idiot designed it?

How would that be fair?

The way I see it so far is education and reading seems to be the highest scorer.

So learning disabilities would not in reality get a passport

These are also in the test:

If your new husband says "Oi, trouble and strife, get up them apple and pairs" , what is he referring to?

.

A strange person from Lancashire asks for a bap. What item of food are they actually talking about?

.

After a quiet night out, doing six pints of strong lager, four Jaeger bombs and five Sambuccas, what food should you eat while leaping in front of taxis to get home?

.

I'm waiting to see if Meghan has to meet the same requirements as everyone else to become a British citizen, i.e length of residence in the UK etc.

My best mate was turned down for British citizenship a couple of years ago despite moving to the UK from Jamaica in 1964 as a child and never living anywhere else.

Great Britain was quite happy to claim him as British when he was a professional sportsman but won't grant him official citizenship!

I live in a medium sized village. It's probably fair to say it's a bit of a microcosm but a good representation of a cross section of society and the wider world.

The over heard conversations in the pub can be cringe worthy at times and there are some openly racist homophobic people. There will always be someone that moans about blow-ins and, that like to reinforce their greater rights to occupy space in the village with statements like "born and bred".

It's my observation that it's also these people who contribute fuck all to village life or the country as a whole. It's doubtful they tie their own laces before leaving the house and they certainly wouldn't pass the citizenship test.

We are a small island and I do think we should be selective as to who we allow to come and live here, based on their ability or potential to contribute or, their need for our protection.

The citizenship test is a load of unnecessary bollocks!
