Of still being able too recite ‘silent night’

In French??

Learned as a 9 yr old for my primary schools nativity production and just won’t budge.

What useless information is ground into your brain that no matter how many years pass you can recall at will ?

I can sing the French, German, and Spanish national anthems. All learnt in languages as school. Why the hell I needed this knowledge, I know not.

I'd love to know it in Gaelic.

Eggheads is hardly challenging and OMG they drag it out!

It's Only Connect I think most fabbers want to go on - can't think why

(Ahem the delicious Victoria)

Bet you can’t help joining in during sporting events.

I actually really enjoy the French anthem, I find it so inspiring during six nations time !

I remember when I was a kid and I'd go to church that my father could recite almost all of the catholic mass in Latin. He was brought up catholic and went to a catholic school.....but he was an atheist who rarely attended church anymore. I'm not even sure he knew what it all translated to in English.

I find it very strange the things that are pushed upon us as children. I was made to play football until I was around 13 and rebelled, I was terrible at it and even the coaches tried to tell my parents I wasn’t cut out for football!

In keeping with your dad, I have very little knowledge of the silent night lyrics translation either

My brain is crammed full of useless stuff (hence I really am handy in a pub quiz); but I constantly fret that it’s like a computer hard drive and the waffle is taking up valuable storage space for more useful stuff.

Examples of stupid things I don’t need to recall:

The words to the whole Umbongo advert

The lyrics to Dogtanian and the Three Muskahounds

The fact that a vessel is deemed to be overtaking if it is more than 22.5 degrees abaft the beam

You get the picture!

Waffle!!

What could be more useful than the words to unbongo ad

I prefer Kia ora myself...

it’s too orangey for crows, it’s just for me and my dog

Only connect - I can struggle in round one but that's I think due to needing to switch my brain to that style of thought. Fine by round 2 and by the wall the contestants are driving me nuts missing the obvious and I'm great at missing vowels.
