Love the snow.

Lived in Germany for 6 years so quite used to shovelling it ,driving in it. Though I'd say it's not quite the same here.

The snow can come on Boxing day later on when I'm done driving and I'm back home,if it comes xmas day I'll be spending it by myself and that would be grim.

What is it with this country, a bit of snow and we think the world's come to an end! If you need to drive just give yourself longer and drive steadily.

Love when it snows. Trouble is it rarely does here in London. Most people lack confidence to drive in it, or prepare their cars properly. Take it slow and steady, have decent treads and have supplies in the car in case you get stuck.

Friends live in Toronto. What we call snow, they call a light frost

"What is it with this country, a bit of snow and we think the world's come to an end! If you need to drive just give yourself longer and drive steadily. "

Agreed. We get 1cm of snow and it's Game Over; transport grinds to a halt, life equates to a National Disaster etc.

I have UK friends who run a B&B in a ski resort in Vermont in the USA. There, homeowners must help clear roadways 100 yards either way where their drives or access roads meet the highway! They're supplied with mini JCB type diggers at cost price plus free fuel to do that role.

The authorities only give up road clearance once the snow is over 4 feet high!

True. I hate it cos i drive for a living and the amount of people who just can't drive in it and don't slow down annoys me. However if i can sit inside with the heating on looking out its lovley x x

Love to see it snow and love the landscapes around after snowfall, just hate all the problems it brings for me. First sign of snow and the kids are out on the bank at the end of the estate on their plastic sledges turning it quickly into an ice rink

Thankfully we’ve avoided it in Glasgow today despite all the weather warnings. It seems to be the east coast that’s got it bad. Take care out there folks.

Older Hot Bearded Guy

If it remained below freezing so it stayed powdery, then I'm all for it.

But, that never happens in this country, because it's not cold enough.

All the problems arise when the temperature creeps above freezing point during the daytime and it melts, hence the wet and slush.

Then it all freezes again overnight, causing ice, before the cycle repeats itself.
