Few weeks ago I had a conversation with a lady friend regarding this feature and I proposed it was pretty much superfluous for straight single guys to post meets on.

She disagreed and suggested if I tried it I would have offers. I scoffed, obviously, but with the offer of a free tea should I be proven correct I thought I'd roll with it.

So, add posted and not a single reply received. Yay! Free tea for me!

But it got me thinking, have any straight single guys:

A - had suitable responses to a 'meet today'?

B - successfully met anyone after posting a 'meet today'?

I'm still to try it, I can't see it ever being effective for a male. Why do women need to look when I keep hearing that they can cherry pick from the hundreds of male they have to delete daily?

I'd never tried either before this foray.

Suppose for a woman it could be utilised to show they are free at a particular time etc and cut down on unwarranted mail from men who aren't free? But we all know that won't happen

there has also been times I posted meets had offers agreed to meet them bam no shows, hard times for all of us

i must be the only one to have looked at it then lol. I’f I’ve had a cancelled meet and sat in a hotel room alone, which has happened a few times, I checked it out and met a few people.

And neither did I.

So V1 test results, I've had a couple of local women view my profile, wether they went to the club or not because of it, I'll never know, I wasn't aware.

(And one of them I think could be a funny profile. )

Nobody messaged.

Result, sat in the club drinking coffee and had a chat.

This will be investigated further.

I put a meet request up asking for someone to erect a washing line out my back garden, no funny business... had loads of offers but were asking for sexual favours in return so I did it myself, well I didn't, the line I bought is still in the packet.

I have responded to a meet today for a social and had a very pleasant time. However I'm still yet to find confirmation of a single straight guy getting anything from them. Would love to be proved wrong

A 'meet today' for me worked well on a status update, someone I'd hot listed saw my social request and messaged me & we met.

I was quite disappointed he didn't hint at a bj by the bins he was gorgeous

Yeah, that's what I do when I am free and want to do something, be it just a social, or hopefully something more. I have had varied responses from it, but find people tend to message after seeing status updates the most! But it sure doesn't hurt to cover all bases lol

I've responded to 2 meet requests in the past. Both guys didn't want to send a face picture for privacy reasons and wanted me to turn up on a blind date ! Needless to say I amused myself instead of wasting time and money

i have yet to add a meet me as like you i dont feel so confident it would work. i did reply to a meet me a few months back, sounded interesting, not just a come fuck me but hotel booked and a night out and see how it goes. wish i had not bothered, she looked nothing like pics, smoked when said she didnt and didnt want to drink when said want a good few drinks, she spent most of night outside bars smoking and texting. i gave up and went to a different hotel lol. apparently i was the lucky one picked out of 50 guys!

I've used this and it does work in that you get responses, however they have then gone on to try to wangle re-arranging the meeting at a time/date convenient to them

, so i've binned them off.

I have tried a meet request once. The night of the Lucy in the Sky commemoration was held 200 yds from my house. I thought perhaps with thousands of people attending the party, having a drink and watch the best firework display I've ever seen I would be inundated with offers and profile views... I wasn't.

That a guy adding themselves to the meet today list equals 'any hole is a goal' is the type of sexist cliched comment this forum should be less tolerant of.

I would have thought, that given the number of complaints about fake profiles and time wasters people would welcome a verified person demonstrating that they are available. I would have thought that the likelihood of a meet materialising are much better when arranged on the day than several weeks in advance.
